The Hornborga Area is a fascinating cultural and nature region within both townscapes and natural landscapes with the Hornborga area, famed for its crane's mating dance, Lake Östen with its whooper swans, Vallebygden and Billingen.

Add a dash of colour to 2007 and celebrate the 300th birthday of Carl Linnaeus, King of the Plants, in the verdant gardens of West Sweden. Linnaeus is the 18th century genius who invented the scientific classification system for plants, animals and minerals and the beautiful region he toured in 1746 will blossom with an array of exhibitions, garden shows and activities.

Falbygdens cheeseBack in 1878 a family started making cheese. Today the fourth and fifth generations of the same family produce cheese at the company.

ÖSTEN LAKE

Östen is an internationally known stopover point for birds. In spring and autumn, you can hear whooper swans and bean geese as they fly over the lake.
