Around 50 guest harbours with plenty of space and good service ensure that you are well rested and ready for the day’s explorations. Around Vänern are many exciting places where you can go ashore. Visitor destinations like Läckö Castle are intermingled with good seaside inns, cosy villages and busy towns with
entertainment and shopping within walking distance of the guest harbour.

Lovers of natural harbours will not be disappointed. Vänern has many beautiful archipelagos, such as Lurö, Eken and Milleviken, as well as the islands outside Åmål along the coast of Värmland. Why not combine your visit with a trip into the canals of Dalsland or the Västra Götaland section of Göta Canal.

You can also pre-book your activities. For example, Vänersborg has a number of exciting packages if you would like to stay on an extra day, paddling or fishing. If you have a physical disability, but still want to get out to sea, specially equipped touring boats are available.

One alternative is to hire a boat on site or why not let someone else take the rudder and go on a chartered trip. The possibilities are many.
