Sweden’s first floating hotel to open in October
The country’s first floating hotel is set to open at the renowned Salt & Sill (
www.saltosill.se
) restaurant, on the island of Klandesholmen, in mid-October. The innovative, eco-friendly development will offer visitors a new way to experience the beauty of the Bohuslan coast and enjoy the seafood of this Taste of West Sweden restaurant. The underside of the hotel’s pontoons will be a perfect home for shells and mussels, acting as a natural purification plant for the marine environment. A new reef outside the hotel will also be created to benefit shellfish. Rooms are priced at 1,795 SEK (£150) for singles and 1,995 SEK (£165) for doubles, including breakfast.
Direct flights to Gothenburg are available with Ryanair from London Stansted, Glasgow Prestwick and Dublin, with SAS from London Heathrow and with City Airline from Manchester and Birmingham.
