This will be the first time in a decade that a European Tour competition is played at a golf course in the Gothenburg area.  Lycke Golf Course is a fantastic establishment and I´m very pleased that were now putting Gothenburg back on the map when it comes to big golf tournaments.

The English golf star Laura Davies is coming to Lycke Golf Course and Gothenburg Masters in September. With Laura Davies in the field, four of last year´s players from the European Solheim Cup team are ready for the competition at Lycke Golf Course.

Lycke Golf Course is situated about 30 minutes north of Gothenburg, near the sea just south of Marstrand, and has mainly seaside-holes, but also a few holes of forest and parkland character. The location by the sea means that the wind is a factor that must always be taken into account.

The course design is inspired by British golf courses. In particular the wind-affected holes on the open fields by Tofta kile have a clear seaside character. Some of the bunkers have also been constructed using peat in the British way. The rest of the holes are designed to fit naturally into the old meadowland, in beautiful natural surrounding typical for the county of Bohuslän. Visiting players often comment how well the course blends into the landscape, so well it seems like it´s always been there.

Lycke Golf Course is only one of 55 golf courses in Gothenburg and the West of Sweden.
